Candy Box 2 by David "aniwey" L. is one of the internet's great slow-burn jokes: it opens with a counter quietly accumulating candies, and somewhere between eating them and throwing them on the ground it becomes a full ASCII RPG with quests, merchants, potions and dragons. Nothing is explained, everything is discoverable, and the moment it clicks is one of browser gaming's best surprises. Progress saves locally — check back between breaks and see what your candies bought.
